*Cover Policy: Undercroft Opera relies on the use of covers to provide support for each leading role. The duties of a cover include learning the role to performance level as well as participating in the ensemble for the production. Please do not hesitate to accept an offer to cover a role, as we strive to promote people who have been covers in the past to perform leading roles in future productions, and we treat covers (and leads, naturally) with the utmost respect. Since Undercroft Opera is a community company, we feel that this format provides an atmosphere of cooperation and fairness, and enables the company itself to present the highest quality production.

Auditions are also heard on an ongoing basis by individual appointment for those who would like to participate in our Community Outreach Concerts, which include various operatic scenes and selections. There will be several of these concerts this year at various venues. We would love to hear you sing and to have you participate in this way with Undercroft Opera.

How To

To schedule an audition for main stage productions, please fill out our Vocalist Audition Request Form or our Orchestra Audition Request Form as needed.

To schedule an audition for Community Outreach Concerts, please send an email with the subject "Audition Request" to mbsederburg@undercroftopera.org or fill out the Audition Request Form on our website. No fee is associated with auditions for Community Outreach Concerts.

Important Audition Notes
  • Undercroft Opera will provide an accompanist at the time of the audition.
  • You may bring your own accompanist. Any audition/accompanist fees will still apply.
  • Please complete all fields in the audition request form. A resume and headshot may accompany your application to supplement the various fields.
  • The Audition Request Form cannot be used in lieu of a resume and headshot. If a resume and headshot are required, they must be presented at the time of the audition.
  • Similarly, a resume cannot be used in lieu of the Audition Request Form. A completed Audition Request Form is required for all Mainstage Roles.
  • Resumes and headshots are not required for Community Outreach Concerts.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we have received, this is the most efficient manner in which to handle audition requests. Upon receipt of your request, a representative will contact you to schedule an appointment. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
